The Lost Sisters is a short story that takes place in the Folk of the Air series by Holly Black. You can read it anytime after the events of the first book The Cruel Prince. It deals with bullying, toxic relationships, and the death of a parent.
Taryn has wronged her twin sister Jude and irreparably damaged their relationship. As the main character of the Folk of the Air series, we see the events from Jude's point of view as she experiences them in The Cruel Prince. But things are not always as they seem, relive the events from Taryn's point of view as she practices her apology to Jude in the mirror. But how can she convince Jude to forgive her if Taryn cannot forgive herself.
This story only took me about 40 minutes to finish. If you've read the rest of the Folk of the Air series, you will probably want to read this story, especially since you can finish it in less than an afternoon. But wasn't spectacular and in my opinion, it didn't really add anything to the story. My opinion of Taryn did not change after reading this story. If you choose to skip it, you won't be missing anything.
The Lost Sisters by Holly Black gets 3 stars out of 5. Nothing revolutionary or ground breaking, nothing even mildly exciting.

Pairs well with clotted cream and apologizing to the people you care about, especially when it's hard.
