Ingredients

Crumble

  • 1 c. all-purpose flour

  • 3/4 c. brown sugar, light or dark

  • 1 tsp. baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

  • 8 tbsp. unsalted butter, melted

Filling

  • 2-1/2 lbs. Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and in bite-sized pieces

  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar

  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp. corn starch

  • 1/2 tsp. salt

  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray an 8-9" baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. 

  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, salt, baking powder, and cinnamon for the crumble. Whisk ingredients to combine. 

  3. Add melted butter and stir witha  fork until crumbly. 

  4. In a large bowl, combine the apples, granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and ground cinnamon for the filling. 

  5. Spread the apple mixture evenly in the baking dish.

  6. Sprinkle crumble evenly on top of the filling.

  7. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until top is bubbling and golden brown.

  8. Cool for 15 minutes before serving.
