Ingredients
2 lb. ground chuck
1/2 c. crushed saltine crackers or Panko breadcrumbs
1 large egg
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. black pepper
knife
cutting board
Directions
In a large bowl, add ground beef, crackers, egg, Worcestershire sauce, mlk, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Mix by hand until smooth but do not overmix.
Divide meat into 6 patties, if you want 1/3 lb. patties for the grill, or into 12 if you want thinner patties.
Line a baking sheet with wax paper or foil.
Gather each section and press firmly into patties. Patties will shrink during cooking, so shape slightly larger than the buns you are using. Place patties on the baking sheet. If you are stacking, separate layers with wax paper.
Use a spoon to press a dent into the center of each patty.
Preheat grill or skillet to medium heat (approximately 350-400°F).
Grill thick patties for 3-4 minutes per side, or 2 minutes for thinner patties. Stack patties on buns and top with favorite toppings, like lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, or bacon.
