Ingredients
Sauce
1 lb. ground beef
Salt & pepper, to taste
1 medium onion, chopped
15 oz. tomato sauce
6 oz. tomato paste
1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
1 tbsp. dried parsley flakes
1 tsp. garlic powder
Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
1 tbsp. Worcestershire suace
1 tbsp. granulated sugar
1 c. water
1/4 c. fresh basil leaves, optional
Noodles
1 pkg. boxed spaghetti noodles
Directions
Season ground beef with salt and pepper.
In a large skillet, add beef and chopped onion and brown on medium-high heat. Drain excess grease.
Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, parsley, garlic powder, red pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar to the skillet. Stir well to combine. Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
Fill large pot with water and heat on medium-heat until boiling.
Once boiling, cook noodles according to package instructions.
Add chopped basil to sauce before serving, if desired.
When serving, place noodles on plate and top with sauce. Serve with garlic bread and parmesan cheese, if desired.
