Ingredients
4 oz. softened cream cheese
2 tbsp. red onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp. mushrooms, finely chopped
2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
1 small jalapeno, finely chopped
2 slices of bacon, cooked
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. black pepper
20 milkweed pods*
Grated cheese, whatever is preferred

Directions
Heat oven to 375°F.
Place milkweed pods in a large pot of water and bring to a boil over high heat.
Boil for 10 minutes. You will hear popping sounds (totally normal).
Drain pot and allow pods to cool.
Place all other ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
Remove the seeds and silk from the boiled pods, you may have to use a knife to split the pods.
Spoon in filling until the pod is full.
Place pods on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Sprinkle grated cheese of choice over the milkweed pods.
Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Serve warm.
